Apologies

The most difficult apologies are done with much sloppiness. I guess when some thing (or things) were so fouled up that what the sender meant as an apology can also be wrapped up in guilt, shame, denial, blame and maybe self-loathing.

I had to tell them sometimes a person will not accept it, they aren't ready, they'll take the apology in bites, or they are ready to thrash it all out by any means necessary.

I sense their apology had a tinge of an ulterior motive. I also guess that as long as the intent outweighs the motive, maybe just maybe that makes the difference.

But I don't think there's fully a right or perfect way to do it.
